Ciya (aka Cathy Treiger) studied art at the University of Arizona and began her art career as a graphic artist with the LA Daily News in the early 80's creating page layouts, maps, charts & illustrations.

Taking Linda Jacobson's Art as Transformation Class in the late 90's brought out her Fine Art side.  Though Ciya has worked with pencil, pen & ink, pastel & mixed media, she specializes in abstract watercolors.  Her unique style marries the spontaneous and detailed while leaving a thin white line between.

Her varied work life began as a 3rd Grade teacher in Lake Luzerne, NY in 1970.  Creating projects with and for her students helped inspire her later career in art.

Along with her husband Marv Treiger and his partner Jack Haer who co-founded & ran the Bodymind Institute in WLA, she taught Bodymind Integration and worked with private clients for 30 years.

She continues to organize and record Marv's Buddhist Dharma workshops & retreats including putting her graphic skills to use creating the flyers and handouts.

Ciya has been a part of the Venice Art Forum since 1998.
